Stillie predicts tough time in League Two

GILLINGHAM goalkeeper Derek Stillie has predicted a possible baptism of fire for Kevin Bond's charges in League Two.

Stillie, standing in for injured first-choice Simon Royce, saved Maxi Gradel's second-half penalty as Cherries were condemned to a 2-1 defeat at Priestfield on Saturday.

The 34-year-old Scotsman got down smartly to his right to keep out Gradel's 79th-minute spot kick, before Cherries responded with victory over Tranmere on Monday - leaving Kevin Bond's side 12 points adrift of League One safety.

And with just six games remaining - starting with Saturday's clash against Millwall at Dean Court (3pm) - relegation to the bottom flight now seems inevitable.

Asked whether he felt Cherries would be equipped to bounce back, Stillie, who is training to be a lawyer, added: "From what I saw today and from what I saw when we played them in Bournemouth in December, they have more than enough quality.

"But from what I can make out, the league below is a different kettle of fish regarding how teams play.

"Whether Bournemouth can still play the way they are known for playing in that league and have success, I don't know."

What is the point of this article, really the second choice goalkeeper from gillingham, is that the best you can do?

Look out for the article tomorrow on AFCB's ten year strategy from the bloke who served them burgers at the motorway service station on the way back from Gillingham.

If this is all there is to write about why bother? Surely there are other sports stories or features that could be concentrated on. Also don't know why there are two match reports for every game this team play? its getting overkill and boring.

Why isn't the Echo following up on the Radio 5 Live investigation into football woes in the football league.Krasner and Martin Allen featured strongly. One view from Krasner was that Chairmen should not be allowed to put a club into administration and then buy it back cheaply???

Who care what a second string Old Scottish Goalkeeper thinks

'Scottish' and 'Goalkeeper', two words that have never combined succesfully.

Wow no wonder nobody buys the Echo no more. The front page is just as bad as the back filled with crap in the middle.

Crap journalists, when was the last time we actually had a good story?

hey give Derek a chance, everybody's entitled to there own opinion... and he's training to be a lawyer... and he's stating the obvious.

But remember the last time we went down the following year we all had a good day out in Cardiff and came back happy.

Absalute rubbish journalism!

When are you going to get off your backside and investigate and report on the far more serious problems and stories at AFC Bournemouth Mr Perrett?

We won't bounce back with "Whose the Daddy now"'s boy letting things drift while occupying the position left vacant by SOD.

SOD has yet to be prove he is a good manager, the side we came back up with should never have been relegated in the first place, and look at what is happening at Doncaster, as soon as they got a sniff of automatic promotion they have stopped winning, not much changes with him does it?
