Woman's knifepoint car jacking terror
 |
| DO YOU RECOGNISE THIS MAN? Police e-fit of violent carjacker |
POLICE are hunting a vicious robber who threatened to stab a Bournemouth woman during a terrifying attack outside a Tesco Express store.
The 37-year-old victim put up a brave fight, kicking out and attempting to push him away. But he pinned her down before punching her, pulling her hair and demanding her car keys.
The robber then drove off from the Tesco Express car park at Christchurch Road, Boscombe.
The stolen car; a grey Volkswagen Polo saloon, was found abandoned early the next day in Collingbourne Avenue off Iford Lane.
Details of the robbery at about 10pm on March 12 have only just been released by Dorset police.
DC Adrian Turner said: "As the victim opened her car door the robber threatened to stab her but she pluckily tried to push him away and kicked out.
"The thief pushed her down, pinning her across her car seat before punching her, pulling her hair and demanding her car keys.
"The victim sensibly threw her keys towards the man and he made her move over to the passenger seat. She was able to open the passenger door and get out. The robber drove off at speed while she sought help."
The stolen car, with a damaged front near-side, was found shortly before 5am on March 13.
Police are hunting a white man, in his mid to late 20s, with an average build and short blond hair. He has a local accent, smelled of curry and alcohol, and was wearing a red jacket and carrying a bag.
DC Turner added: "Fortunately the victim suffered no serious physical injuries but she was severely shocked and upset by what must have been a very frightening experience.
"She has been able to help in the preparation of an e-fit and I'm hoping that by releasing this picture of her cowardly attacker someone will recognise this violent man.
Witnesses and anyone with information should phone 01202 222222 or the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555111.

The mentality of a drunk yobbo out of money to get home or wherever, and decided to pick on a lady about her everyday business and threaten her and steel her car.
Would he have done the same to a larger than him man driver, I doubt it.
Glad to hear the lady did not suffer in the way of injury and gave a good description.
Down to you the police now. Oh and the public of course.

I had an email (don't know how true it is) about a young woman who'd stopped for fuel at Fleet Services, and while she'd gone to pay, the man behind the till told her to keep looking round the shop for a while...because a bloke had just got into the back of her car...the police arrived and he was arrested. They later found out that there is a controlled gang in London that hire people to get women for gang rape!
I'm glad this victim is safe and got away.
I suppose the two things to think about are...never keep any docs in your car with your name and address on it, in case it gets stolen..and in the case of the Fleet Episode...lock your car when you're away from it...damned society!!
